Notice Peoples Strengths, Not Just Weaknesses

My son taught me this lesson years ago. They would have cleaning chores and when I came home from work, I would find the spots they missed. He finally asked me why I only saw what they missed and not what they got done. Out of the mouths of babes!I told my sons, “it stops now. From now on, I will compliment you on what you do.” It worked miracles. Then if I did need to mention something they missed, they were more willing to fix it. My sons trained me to be a better person who later on had a chance to become a better wife.

Fill the bucket up with kindness first before taking anything out. Make sure it always gets refilled.

If you listen, you can learn some of the best lessons.

Happy listening! ~Jean
