Success Isn’t All About Competition

We are all unique so no one can do what we do the way we do it. Be happy for others’ success and you will find your own. That’s something I’ve learned over many years of working in the corporate world. If you are willing to look, there is always something new around the corner that needs your special touch. But you will miss it if you are too busy focusing on what others are doing or trying to copy what they do. In an article by Michael Hyatt, author called, “Their Success Doesn’t Threaten Ours, Why Competition Isn’t Always Good“, Hyatt describes the difference between healthy and unhealthy competition. He agrees the way to get past unhealthy competition is to look for ways to help others succeed. This takes a conscious effort to change your thought process. So why should you do that? Because when you help others, they are no longer the enemy. Your energy and time will be freed up so you will be able to get your mind off their success and onto the next thing that’s coming around the corner for you.

In this changing world, there is always something new around the corner. Make your own path and let others make theirs. That’s the secret to success and happiness.
