Set Yourself Free To Be All You Are Made To Be

Are you struggling to find your own path amongst the conflicting advice from experts?

Recently, I was introduced to the Magnolia Journal by editors, Joanna and Chip Gaines. I consumed the words on the pages of the fall 2019 issue, “In Pursuit of Wholeness” like they were written just for me. I was so inspired, I wrote How to Find Wholeness After Being Broken admitting for the first time, I was bullied out of my job.

To my delight, I discovered the topic was a four-part series on Identity which began in January of this year. Immediately, I went on a hunt to find the spring and summer issues. In the summer issue, “You Were Made to Be Free”, it is an article by Joanna Gaines which spoke to me. In “Free to Evolve”, she shares openly about feeling insecure and the process of evolving into ‘who we were meant to be’.

Recovering from the shame of being bullied has been an enlightening journey.

This spring, I decided to write a book about my experiences learning to succeed, heal and grow through hard times. Being an educator, I took an online class by Michael Hyatt called Get Published giving me a great start. In his next course, Platform University, I was to design a platform to boost public interest in my writing thus increasing my chances for a book contract.

This is where I stopped listening to the voice inside me.

The more I listened to industry experts on webinars, the more unsure I felt about my calling. Repeatedly, I was told to choose one target audience – either business leaders or people. To me, growing people means growing leaders which can grow a business. I’ve struggled for months, unable to identify who I am and why what I have to say is important. Finally, I hired someone to design my website.

I didn’t get a new website. I found something better – courage to create what was in my heart.

Now, I write to encourage people to grow, heal and excel in life and work. If you can embrace the process along the way, you will find peace and joy. As Joanna Gaines explains, “I also believe there is a world of untapped potential within you. And it’s hoping, waiting to see if you’re willing to set it free.”

What is preventing you from using your untapped potential?

I’d love to hear from you.
